The Innovation and Commercialization Support Center (UPR i+c) of the University of Puerto Rico has the purpose of fostering a culture of innovation, providing tools for the design and commercialization of innovations, as well as contributing to the innovation ecosystem and the economic development of Puerto Rico.
Academic offer: In collaboration with the School of Architecture, UPR i+c offers a Minor Concentration in Design and Innovation (6 courses), open to students of any discipline. This concentration trains the student in issues of design, innovation and entrepreneurship, in an integrated way for the development of an innovative product or service that can be marketed in global markets.
Certificates: Cycles of workshops and mentoring, in which the participants work on their own projects. They are aimed at academic programs of any campus or university, as well as non-profit organizations and companies.

Support for innovation teams: UPR i+c provides an integrated range of support services to students, researchers and entrepreneurs to develop their innovations, including design thinking sessions, value proposition definition, customer discovery, market analysis, definition of business model, intellectual property management, identification of allies, pitch and presentation management, and search for external funds. It also offers support in the construction of prototypes, through its collaborators, and their validation.
Resident entrepreneurs: UPR i+c provides long-term mentoring and support to innovative entrepreneurs, as well as a work space at the Río Piedras Campus. It supports them in the innovation development process and its commercialization, as well as in the preparation of proposals to participate in programs and competitions in Puerto Rico and the United States. The resident entrepreneurs, in turn, will become mentors and resources for students who are starting their innovation processes.
Incubator: The center is open to entrepreneurs from the community, who receive workshops and mentoring (9-month training program + 6 additional months of post-incubation), specialized professional services (accounting, legal, human resources, marketing) and space for job.
