CAUCE is a nonprofit organization that convenes all sectors that make up the community of Río Piedras; this includes residents, students, service providers, community based organizations, and merchants. This organization participates and collaborates in the fulfillment of the Comprehensive Development and Rehabilitation Plan of Río Piedras for the benefit of the communities that make up the Special Planning District. CAUCE provides the community with several educational services free of charge as part of the commitment between the University of Puerto Rico and the citizens of Río Piedras. These services are aimed at promoting the quality of life in this university town.
CAUCE offers the following services:
-Adult Literacy Program “I learn in Río Piedras”
-ENLACE Program that coordinates and offers workshops and classes on the use of basic, intermediate and advanced computers, cell phones, and tablets
-PROEDUCA – Program Educational programs to prevent xenophobia and discrimination in children and young people at school
-Tutoring for high school students
-University Professional Practices
-Community Research
-Adult English Courses
-Orchard, Nursery and Community Urban Forest.
